The Vision
Called to reach others, we began our work with youth. Stan Templin a high school Chemistry Teacher and his wife Kristen answered the Lord's call by working at the ODYC from 2007-2009. Kristen took the full time position as the Executive Director and Stan helped run the program and fill many behind the scenes roles. In 2009, they felt the Lord calling them to a new direction and birthed RYM continuing to reach to youth while seeking the Lord's heart for His plans for their lives. Through the year, the Lord began to tug on our hearts to reach more than youth. We also desire to help His people. As the year closed we stepped back and searched the Father's heart for direction.
In January of 2010, we began to lay the groundwork to include families into our program. Our heart is to provide a place to be real and have fun while encouraging one another to grow. Through activities and fellowship, we seek to encourage one another to make a difference through team building and encouraging one another to reach out and help lives in real ways. We seek to partner with the local churches, schools, and ministries to meet needs. As we grow and connect with like hearts, we seek to offer opportunities for lives to grow through holistic programs.
RM is a non-profit organization that was created to impact lives through Jesus Christ. We operated under Reamstown Church of God for tax purposes during 2009- 2010. We are in the process of establishing our independence by completing our 501 (c) 3 status during 2010-2011. The funding collected for the ministry shall be used to support RM and its programs and meet needs of lost and hurting families in the community and overseas. RM operates as a volunteer organization. We give our time and resources to glorify the Father.
In order to be wise stewards we are seeking a property that will house our family, RM and the family business, "Cup of Change" which offers organic fairly traded coffee, organic teas and other organics. We will use the business as a vehicle to create revenue to support RM and, Lord willing, provide funding. The property shall have room to carry out opportunities for families and youth to grow. We want to make our lives available to people. Be a light in the community where youth and families can grow and find God. As resources become available we will expand the program to reach junior high through high school youth as well as offer programs in which families can benefit. RM seeks to be a place where the lost can find Jesus, the called can grow, and youth can be youth. Today our world offers little to encourage youth to grow and have a place to be well just that youth. As resources continue to grow we seek to also provide holistic programs to reach, teach and impact lives. The ideal location will consist of a few acres, a barn or house that will serve both as a place of business and ministry as well as provide space for fundraisers and socials to support RM.
